Syrian Coastal Residents Celebrate Nowruz and Extend Greetings to the Kurds

Azadi Post – Cities and towns along the Syrian coast witnessed remarkable celebrations marking Nowruz, the Kurdish national holiday. Residents lit the symbolic flame of the occasion, which embodies the values of renewal and freedom, expressing their joy at the arrival of spring, a season closely tied to this historic celebration.
In a gesture reflecting the spirit of solidarity and coexistence among Syria’s diverse communities, locals extended their warm greetings to the Kurdish people in Syria on the occasion of the Kurdish New Year, emphasizing the importance of strengthening national bonds among the different ethnic and cultural components of Syrian society.
These celebrations coincided with various events held in different parts of Syria, as Nowruz is considered a national holiday of profound cultural and historical significance for the Kurds. As per tradition, the festivities included fire-lighting ceremonies, folkloric dances, and traditional songs, all of which reflect the rich heritage of this special occasion.
It is worth noting that Nowruz, which falls on March 21 each year, is celebrated by millions worldwide—not only in Syria but also in regions extending from Iran, Iraq, and Turkey to Afghanistan and Central Asia—as it symbolizes hope, freedom, and a new beginning.
