Amid the rapidly evolving situation in Syria, we are following with deep concern reports indicating an agreement between the Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the illegitimate Syrian president, who seeks to impose an exclusionary vision that serves only to perpetuate authoritarian rule at the expense of all components of the Syrian people. Any constitution imposed through undemocratic means and based on extremist ideologies that threaten Syria’s future represents a dangerous step toward deepening the crisis and prolonging the suffering.
We categorically reject any attempts to re-establish repressive rule through even more violent means, whether by marginalizing Syria’s diverse communities or by imposing an illegitimate constitution that reproduces an authoritarian and extremist model. We also warn against policies that aim to suppress the rights of the Kurdish people, who have always been an essential part of Syria’s social fabric and whose legitimate rights must be safeguarded in any fair and sustainable political solution.
Accordingly, we call on the Kurdish people to organize peaceful demonstrations wherever they are in the world to express their rejection of this exclusionary constitution and to demand their full rights in accordance with the principles of democracy and justice. Additionally, we call for the resignation of the Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, due to his failure to protect the rights of the Kurdish people and to effectively manage the current stage.
At the same time, we reiterate our demand for the removal of the illegitimate president, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, and his terrorist forces, who continue to oppress Syrians and entrench authoritarian rule under the guise of an imposed constitution that does not reflect the will of the people. We also call on the international community to take urgent action to ensure the protection of areas facing direct threats, particularly the Alawite regions on the Syrian coast, the Druze in the south, and the Kurdish regions in northern and eastern Syria, from any military escalation or violations targeting their inhabitants.
The future of Syria must be that of a democratic, pluralistic state that guarantees the rights of all its components and prevents the return of dictatorship in any form, whether under a nationalist or religious guise. Any attempt to impose a new authoritarian rule will face widespread popular rejection and will be a major obstacle to achieving a just and lasting political solution.
Glory to freedom and justice, and victory to the will of the people in determining their own destiny.
