Magazine of the Pen's Tear
Here we are, opening the gate to a new issue, as if unveiling another chapter of this dream called Dam’at al-Qalam... a magazine not written to fill a void, but to furnish it with quiet beauty, delicate unease, and questions that go beyond the surface and into the depths of the soul.
Issue fifteen is not just a number following what came before—it is another step on the luminous path of writing, the kind that insists on staying awake in a time when meaning sleeps between the jaws of noise.
March… the month of transition, wandering between a lingering chill in the bones and a promised warmth of fertility. It feels like a poem caught in hesitant weather—much like writing itself: unsettled, unsatisfied, never arriving by will… but when it does, it tears through the familiar wrapping of the world and opens a window onto the unsaid.
In this issue, we do not promise the reader fulfillment, but rather a noble hunger: hunger for thought, for wonder, for that kind of entanglement with life that can only be healed by more writing.
Dam’at al-Qalam has never been a magazine for casual reading. It has always been, and still remains, a continuous attempt to rescue meaning from drowning, to revive the word amid the wreckage of rapid consumption, and to remind us that language can still be a home, a refuge, a silent revolution.
In this issue, the articles intertwine like voices rising from different depths—from philosophy to literature, from inner reflections to the pulse of reality, from longing for the past to the unease of what is yet to come.
We do not gather words merely for their beauty, but for their honesty. True beauty is inseparable from honesty, and honesty is inseparable from pain, from inquiry, and from that ancient yearning for life to hold a meaning deeper than its surface.
This issue is not a celebration of what has been accomplished, but of what is yet to be done. It is an open invitation—for the writer, the reader, and the one who still stands at the threshold of language, afraid to enter.
Come in… Here, you are not asked to understand everything, but to feel, to think, to reflect—and to resist shallowness with the depth of the heart.
We dedicate this issue to everyone who has believed in the invisible power of words, to those who know that when written with sincerity, letters can rearrange the soul and give pain a bearable meaning.
We dedicate it to those who have not grown weary of asking, who have refused ready-made answers, and who still believe that writing is not a profession, but a state of being.
To those who know how to listen to a word as one listens to a lone flute on a long night…
Welcome to Issue Fifteen of Dam’at al-Qalam,
