The Return of Al-Ru’ya… The Return of the Free Word
After a suspension that lasted since June 2024, Al-Ru’ya – Azadi newspaper returns to its readers with the publication of its seventh issue, carrying the same spirit with which it was founded: to serve as a platform for free thought, a space for responsible dialogue, and a voice that expresses the concerns of society and its political, intellectual, and cultural transformations.
The newspaper’s interruption during the past period was not the end of its project, but rather a hiatus imposed by various circumstances and changing conditions. Today, its return comes in response to a growing need for serious journalism, rigorous analysis, and a critical vision that goes beyond transient news to a deeper understanding of the political, social, and strategic contexts shaping the present and future of the region.
The Editorial Board of Al-Ru’ya – Azadi is pleased to announce the publication of its seventh issue for June 2026, reaffirming its commitment to its intellectual and journalistic mission based on in-depth analysis, responsible dialogue, and openness to contemporary political, cultural, and intellectual issues.
Al-Ru’ya – Azadi is dedicated to political, intellectual, and cultural affairs, with particular attention to strategic studies and analyses, as well as issues of democracy, freedom, and human rights. It also follows regional and international transformations and their implications for the peoples of the region. A significant focus is also placed on the Kurdish issue in its various political, cultural, and social dimensions, based on the firm belief that just causes are not advanced by slogans alone, but through thought, knowledge, and responsible dialogue.
In its seventh issue, the newspaper opens a set of current political and intellectual dossiers, addressing the rapid transformations in Syria and the Middle East, the complexities of statehood, citizenship, and democracy, and the future of relations among different components. It also presents analytical studies and articles that aim to provide a profound reading of reality and to anticipate future horizons, away from momentary reactions and preconceived judgments.
Al-Ru’ya – Azadi is not merely a periodic publication, but an intellectual and cultural project that seeks to contribute to the formation of public awareness, to entrench a culture of dialogue, and to promote critical thinking as an essential condition for understanding the major transformations of our contemporary world. From this perspective, the newspaper opens its pages to researchers, writers, intellectuals, and opinion-makers, in the conviction that the plurality of voices and ideas constitutes the foundation of any free and vibrant democratic space.
As we announce the release of the seventh issue today, we reaffirm our commitment to professionalism, objectivity, and intellectual independence, as well as respect for political and cultural pluralism, and a consistent alignment with the values of freedom, justice, human dignity, and the right of peoples to express their legitimate aspirations.
The return of Al-Ru’ya – Azadi is not merely a return to publication, but a renewed affirmation of belief in the power of the free word and the role of critical thought in confronting misinformation and closed certainties. It is an open invitation to all readers, writers, and researchers to participate in this media and cultural project, which aspires to serve as a bridge between knowledge and reality, between thought and change, and between the questions of the present and the horizons of the future.
